The Tork Lift camper tie-downs we offer are all meant for the 6-1/2 foot bed, not the 5 foot 7 inch bed on your truck.
CR Brophy offers the # HSSF which would work with your truck, as long as there is 2 inches of clearance under the bed lip as shown in the photo I provided. You'd also need the tie-down hardware package, part # TDHP. The HSSF would actually clamp to the underside of the lip on the bed side rail. view full answer...
The Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs # HSSF will have a very slight amount of play since there is a compressible pad to prevent scratches on the bedrails, but it sounds like you're having much more significant play. I've attached a picture from an install of this part and you can see that the bolt is at its limit on threads. If you're seeing the same with your install then I recommend picking up longer T-Bolts with part # BR2007 to close the gap and tighten it down more to your bedrails. view full answer...
The TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs - Rear Item # TLR3510 is competing for the same space as the step so unfortunately there isn't a work around for this tie down. Instead you could replace the steps that bolt onto the wall of the camper like the TorkLift GlowStep Stow N' Go Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear - 3 Steps - 375lbs - Black Bracket Item # TLA7833.
There are a few different options depending on the entry height of your camper which you can see in the chart I've attached.... view full answer...
I have a solution for you. Unfortunately, there is not an extension of the Adarac ladder rack # A70510 available. As far as having additional support of the bow of the canoe on your 2013 Silverado's cab, I recommend the Malone Foam Block for Canoes - 6" Long - Qty 1 # MPG160. The Foam Block will serve as a point to mount the bow down to the roof of your cab to make sure the kayak doesn't bump it during transport. In addition to the foam pad, you will need the Malone Hood Loops for Bow and... view full answer...
Glad to hear most of the installation of your TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs # TLC2225 went well, however to fix the issue you're having I recommend re-tapping the threads for your bed bolt as they may be worn or stripped out.
To further secure the bolt into it's spot you can also use some thread locker like:
-Loctite Threadlocker 262 - High Strength - Up to 3/4" Nuts/Bolts # LT37420.
I've also included an installation video for you to check out as well. view full answer...
Your B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3400 is an older version which at the time fit all the truck beds. According to B&W they modified this around 8 years ago to fit the You can remove the plastic rib and elongate the grooves to get the ribs to fully sit inside the bed ribs. If this doesn't drop your hitch far enough to latch inside your B&W Turnover Ball # BWGNRK1116 you can loosen the hitch bolt for the Companion to extend further down inside the receiver. You may need to spray in some cleaner... view full answer...
Since you have your B&W Companion model 3000 like # BWRVK3500 up to its highest setting, the only thing you can do is adjust your pin box to account for the additional height needed. If it is already adjusted all the way down, then we can look at replacement options. To do this, we would need to know what your current pin box number is and that is normally printed on a sticker on your actual pin box. view full answer...
Curt states that bed liners can affect the fit of the X5 # 16310. Basically if the Curt X5 can be pinned in like normal then it can be used with a bed liner.
Because every truck and bed liner combination is going to be slightly different there is no set list of vehicles and liner combinations available to determine if it will fit or not. The pin hole center for the X5 is approximately 2 inches from the bottom of the unit. If you can measure from the surface of your bed liner down to the... view full answer...
A slider hitch would actually sit higher due to the slide rails so that would only further raise the connection point in your truck. You would need to either lower your pin box (if possible) to make sure you have 6" of bed clearance and/or need to flip the leaf springs on your RV over the axels with the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit Item # K71-384-00 for 2-3/8" diameter axles or the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit Item # K71-385-00 for 3" diameter axels. view full answer...
The first thing I would check is the fifth-wheel hitch in the bed of your truck. Typically the hitch is height adjustable and can be moved to the highest position for bedside clearance.
Going with a standard pin box instead of an extended one will only change the location of the king pin which will bring the trailer closer to the rear of the vehicle. You may then have clearance issues with the trailer loft and the cab of the truck depending on the width of your trailer.
If adjusting the... view full answer...
The first thing I would do in your situation is take the truck and trailer to your RV dealer and have them check out your setup. Typically 5th wheel trailers are set up to tow a bit pin high to allow for more weight transfer to the rear most axle or axles on the trailer.
If possible, you can adjust the trailer pin box closer to the underside of the trailer loft, or reduce the height of your fifth-wheel hitch head in the bed of your truck. Be aware that adjusting the trailer too close to... view full answer...
The pin box on your trailer should be adjustable. You should be able to lower it in the mounting holes that attach it to the frame. This will give you the addition clearance you would need between the bed rails and the trailer overhang.
21 inches is about as tall as you are going to get from a fifth wheel hitch. The fact that isn't enough clearance makes me think your trailer's pin box is up too high and could come down. view full answer...
I'm suspecting a bad ground connection somewhere. Usually when something strange like what you describe, it's the result of a poor ground.
How did you wire the side markers? Those would usually be installed inline with the running lamp circuit as it runs down the side of the trailer. Assuming the running lamp circuit runs down one side of the trailer, you'd tap the running lamp into the circuit and for the running lamp on the other side, the easiest way to connect that is to daisy chain... view full answer...
The Chevy Brake Light Hitch Cover part # CR-007C that you referenced is designed to use the right turn/stop circuit of your trailer wiring for activation, so it's designed to blink with your right turn signal.
If you could track down the CHMSL circuit of your vehicle (if you have a truck) then you run that circuit to the green wire of the # CR-007C and it would only illuminate when the brakes are applied. That might prove to be too difficult to make it worthwhile though. view full answer...
The correct tonneau tarp replacement depends on the specific tonneau you have on you 2012 Ford F-250 long bed. For example, if you have an Extang brand soft cover there are 6 different options that fit your truck. If you have the Extang Tuff Tonno Soft Tonneau Cover - Snapless J-Strip - Roll Up - Vinyl # EX14725 then the replacement cover is # EX13725. If you know what model you have, let me know and I'll be happy to assist.
If you are not sure which model you have, I've linked the... view full answer...
It could be the bracket on the Tailgate Assist # DZ43301 could be worn. Also make sure that the larger portion of the shock is connected to the truck bed and not the tailgate. If you have it set up like that I think that the bracket is just worn down. Double check that you have the brackets set up in the right orientation as well. view full answer...
What you will want to do is raise the 5th wheel trailer hitch up higher and the pin box on the trailer lower. When parked on level ground and with the trailer level you should have at least 6 inches of clearance between the trailer overhang and the top of the bed side rails.
Adding a different pin box like # LC158778 would provided an improved ride but will not give you any additional height. Making the adjustments on the hitch and trailer is the way to go. view full answer...
You definitely don't want to be forcing the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover, like part EX35MR for a 2022 Ram 1500 5-1/2' bed, open so we want to check your hinge seal to see if that needs to be replaced.
Check to see if the seal that fills the gap between the panel and hinge is coming out of the cover, making sure there also isn't anything in the hinge that's causing it to bind. If the hinge is damaged from it not being properly secured prior to driving off then you'll need to... view full answer...
Sounds like your B and W Companion Slider part # BWRVK3400 is stuck in the gooseneck ball shank of your truck bed. What we normally recommend when this happens is to connect to a fifth wheel trailer like you normally would, and then with the pin pulled out from the shank of the gooseneck hitch use the landing gear jacks to see if you can lift the hitch out of the truck bed. This is a great way to gain a mechanical advantage over the problem.
Once you get it out I'd recommend greasing... view full answer...
